Which one is your favorite, if any? These four works were painted by the French artist Georges Clairin (1841-1919). From left to right, you see: 1) An Ouled Nail Tribal Dancer (1895) 2) At the Opera (1900) 3) A Galant Couple (1919) 4) The Festival of Flowers (date unknown) In these painting, you can recognize the frolicky themes and brushwork of Clairin. He was inspired by the Parisian high society as well as by the Oriental world. And unlike many other Oriental painters, he visited the Oriental world extensively giving a certain authenticity to his works. #Art #Painting #Artwork #ArtHistory #HistoryofArt #OilPainting #OilonCanvas #FineArts #ArtoftheDay #Oriental #Orientalism #Clairin #FrenchArt #FrenchArtist #FrenchPainter
