Which Renoir is your favorite? Dance in the Country (left) or Dance in the City (right)? And if you want to learn more about Renoir's lovely dancing images, you can check out my 2-min video about Dance at Bougival, released earlier today. See the link in my bio. Renoir painted all these works in 1883, at the request of his art dealer, Paul Durand-Ruel. It was the beginning of a period where Renoir returned more to the basics of painting (in his opinion). More complicated things were not always better, and capturing a simple, pleasing scene from daily life with the right brush strokes and colors was challenging enough. It also helped that since a few years, Renoir was a successful artist who made good money. This was not the case in the beginning of his career (until the mid 1870s). The extra money allowed him to travel, study art from others, and return to his preferred artistic ideas. #Art #Artwork #ArtHistory #HistoryofArt #Painting #OilonCanvas #OilPainting #OilPaint #Impressionism #Renoir #Video #2Minutes #LearnfromHome #MuseumfromHome #DanceatBougival #Bougival #Dance #Dancing #Happy #IntheMoment #Happiness #France #FrenchArt #FrenchArtist
